Stone Walls
Since fall began, we have been working on a project that has been a particularly awesome one for us. It is challenging in its management and coordination with the building contractors, delightful in the high quality standard expected and the interesting design and materials we are using, and familiar in that we are working again with LaPatra Architects, for clients whose previous home we landscaped, and next door to a home we landscaped 3 years ago.
Much of our time thus far has been spent working on the lower yard, taking a largely abandoned space filled with invasive plants and returning it to a native setting.
Recently, we have moved our work up near the house and for the past couple weeks we have been building stone walls. We are using a portion of the sandstone that was removed from the old house facade and blending that in with a new stone out of Montana. I love it. We are also reusing some of the large granite stones that we found on-site along with new granite boulders and steps from Marenakos to lend to the timeless look of a stone wall.

What a great connection to that boulder, hey? As we perform work on the many different areas in this great landscape, I will continue to share photos of our progress. Later this week we will begin the granite staircase, followed by the placement of many granite boulders that will, once the landscape is finished, look like they have been there for eons.
